Auburn basketball player arrested for allegedly trying to have girlfriend killed

Auburn basketball players Justin Evans and Jordan Taylor were arrested Saturday for allegedly attempting to kill their girlfriend after she rejected his advances, authorities said.

Auburn police say they arrested the two players, ages 20 and 17, after an investigation into a domestic dispute involving Evans and his girlfriend.AUBURN, Ala.

A police report obtained by The Associated Press said police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 400 block of West W. Monroe Street at about 3:15 p.m. on Friday and found a man and woman inside the home.

Officers say they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The report said the two suspects, who are still at large, were arrested and charged with felony murder, felony aggravated assault and felony possession of a firearm.

The victim’s family was notified of the incident on Saturday, according to the report.

The police report did not provide further details about the victim’s identity or condition.

The two players have not been identified.
