Elle is one of the authorities in fashion and hair, so when it says something about the link between hair color and personality, I usually tend to read it carefully. According to a study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, men believe in stereotypes, namely that brunettes are approachable, blondes need a knight to save them from whatever problems they might encounter and redheads are conceited.
While you may not wish to be part of the crowd and wear such a label on your forehead, it is also true that we all want to experience feelings that we think are fit for a certain hair color. For example, if you become a blonde overnight, you also expect to change your otherwise calm nature and take the party road. If your expectations are met or not, this is a matter of how strong your personality is and trust me when I say that the latter will prevail no matter the color of your hair; hiding your true self is never easy and you should never pretend to be a brunette if you are a careful hazel or a feeble blonde.
I strongly believe that after you’ve tried the whole rainbow palette, the right color will choose you and you won’t even know that. Therefore, allow yourself the luxury to be carried away by the color and see if the approachable brunette is the best portrayal of your inner person.
